I’ve enjoyed the challenge of educating myself in various fields if and when possible throughout my life, and studying the art of painting has been no exception. However, I do possess formal degrees in architectural design, construction management, and most recently, a masters degree in art education. I have also been very fortunate to teach adults at numerous schools and art organizations through Chicago and Indiana the last 18 years.
Having been a musician and song writer long before taking up painting, I eventually decided to offer collectors something a bit different and create a multi-sensory experience where collectors receive a musical score and short story accompanying select paintings or prints.
My interest in teaching most recently entered the field of educational television. First producing and hosting a show for Chicago area cable TV, a second show was developed for public television across the country entitled “The Complete Painter”. Covering everything from buying your first supplies, to making a career of it, we hope the show offers everything art students need in reaching their own personal painting goals.
Lastly, I also believe professional artists inherit a certain amount of accountability to their patrons by constantly striving to grow and evolve creatively as an artist. I myself never stop experimenting and challenging myself in new subject matters and styles - and just as important, never stop pursuing the countless avenues artists have in order to communicate.
