Here you see my recommended supply list.  The important thing to remember when buying supplies is:

For brushes - first have a variety of brush types - in different sizes - since these all have different uses, and are the "tools" you have in order to do various "jobs".

For paints - the paint type (the "medium") best for the type of painting you do, will vary depending on the look you want.  But for most painting ideas (and especially for beginners), oils is the best medium to start with since they're the most forgiving, making fixing mistakes easy.  And I'll show you how drying time is never a problem.

Now the color choices is especially important if you only buy a few.  So, I'll show you why the colors below get you the most for your money, and are easily available.  But understand, EVERY paint color (or pigment) has DIFFERENT qualities, and no one color will do it all!  So over time, the more one buys, the better.   Again, this is all explained in the classes.

For additional supplies, this depends on your medium.  But everyone needs paper towels, a couple small containers, etc.  See details below:

The following 7-color pallet is recommended for the Painting course (Students can also bring what they have for review the first day)  Any brand will work, but small student-grade tubes made by Winsor & Newton work well, are easily available, and cost about  $5 a tube.  (Note! If you're thinking, this feels like an "investment", remember you probably pay more for a couple dinners out than this.  And your artwork will be around a lot longer!)
